Training and Classes

Courses are run by Karen England with one or two assistants in each class. All of whom have an understanding of behaviour as well as training.

Class numbers are small to allow for individual attention as well as a relaxed, informal stress- free environment. Our aim is to ensure the classes are fun for dogs and their owners.

We use the most modern behavioural techniques to offer the very best in training for puppy or older dog alike. We are a Kennel Club listed organisation running The Kennel Club Good Citizen Scheme. Find out how you can start your puppy on The Puppy Foundation Scheme and then move on to other courses as your dog progresses with their training.

Puppy classes - Don’t leave it too late! Puppies learn incredibly quickly and these classes are designed to allow them to build confidence and social skills with adults, children and other puppies in a controlled environment as well as learning all the basics of training. Puppies need to be 18 weeks or under at the start of the course – but the earlier the better! Class numbers are restricted. However families are encouraged to come along - so children of school age and above are welcome!

Our Puppy 2 follow on course will then consolidate on the foundations that you have laid in Puppy 1.

Graduate classes – These classes are for dogs which have already taken a Puppy 1 and 2 course. Further skills, tricks and individual training goals are the focus for this course. Many owner's want to continue their dog's training or address typical 'teenage' behaviours such as selective hearing in the park or jumping up at visitors.

Owners of older dogs that may want to join ina Puppy 2 course may often do so at the discretion of Karen England.Usually after completing one or two, One to One private sessions.

The Kennel Club Good Citizen Scheme - This branch of Alpha training offers owners the chance to work towards The Kennel Club Good Citizen Award scheme. There are three levels Bronze, Silver and Gold.
